Dana Marie Blankenship Dana Marie Blankenship, 65, of Bland, went to be with her loving Savior on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. She was born January 30, 1950, in Hinton, W.Va., the daughter of the late Paul Raymond and Emma Marie Petry Foster. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church where she was a member of the women's group and a Sunday school teacher. She loved children, attending local Bland County basketball games and enjoyed "riding around." She was preceded in death by a special baby, Joseph Curtis Blankenship. Left to cherish her memory is the love of her life, her loving husband of 31 years, Ned Saford Blankenship and their "very very best friends", Randall and Nancy Williams. A memorial service to celebrate her life is planned for Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, Bland, with the Rev. Danny Shortridge, the Rev. Wayne Monroe and Rev. Paul Perkins officiating. A graveside service will be announced at a later date. Saford would like to thank everyone for the many visits, calls, the food and especially for all the prayers. He requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to help with the funeral expenses to the funeral home. A.Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, is in charge of arrangements.
