A pair of Richlands women are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute after police seized more than a pound of marijuana.

Richlands Police Chief J.W. Gilbert said officers received reports suspicious activity in the Page Street area of town and obtained a search warrant for a residence. They seized one pound and two ounces of marijuana, several weapons, drug paraphernalia and cash from a residence on the street.

They arrested Reba Lynn Cook, 28 and Rebecca Noel Cook. Both of the women are charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, two counts of possession of a gun while in possession of schedule I or II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rebecca Noel Cook is charged additionally with child neglect or injury. They are scheduled for a May 24 appearance in general district court on the drug and gun charges. Rebecca Cook will have a juvenile court hearing on the child neglect case.  Sgt. Millard McGee and Officer Doug Scales investigated the case.
