Patrick Henry won the championship game of Bland County’s Yo-Na Invitational baseball tournament with a 7-1 victory against George Wythe on Saturday, April 14.

The Rebels snapped a three-game losing streak and improved their record to 6-3.

Landon Smithson had three hits, including a double, and Tyler Jackson two hits, including a triple, for PH. Jackson, Jackson Cruise, Isaac Eldreth and Jordan Tuggle provided RBIs, and Smithson scored two runs. Cruise had three steals.

Chilhowie belted Northwood 23-3 in four and a half innings for third place. The Warriors led 11-0 after an inning, with Greg Sanchez homering on the first pitch in the bottom of the first, and 19-0 after two.

Sanchez, Joe Blevins, Ethan Armstrong, Matthew Delp and Trevor Williams had three hits each for Chilhowie, which amassed 23 hits. Delp finished with four RBIs, and Blevins, Armstrong and Williams had three apiece. Logan Branson raised his season pitching record to 3-0.

The Warriors and the Panthers had 6-5 records after the contest.
