Northwood and Patrick Henry started their varsity softball seasons Thursday, March 15, with victories. The Panthers won at Honaker 3-1 while the Rebels beat visiting Rural Retreat 14-6.

Nancy Jo Roberts threw a two-hitter for Northwood, which received two hits and an RBI from both Lexie Woodward (who tripled) and Catie Bordwine.

Winning-pitcher Carter Call and Carlee Taylor provided three hits apiece for PH. Call tripled and doubled, and Taylor also hit a triple.

PH also took an 11-1 decision against Rural Retreat as the Rebels started their varsity baseball season that day. The Northwood boys fell at Honaker 15-1.
