Richlands’ girls claimed the district title and the boys’ kept win streak alive in soccer action May 14.

The Lady Blues edged Tazewell 2-1 in a road game and the boys’ beat the Bulldogs 6-0. Ellie Lindsey scored both Richlands goals in the first half and the defense held Tazewell scoreless until a second half penalty kick got the ‘Dogs on the board.

In the boys’ match Richlands jumped in front early and never allowed Tazewell to get going.     Levi Forrest had a pair of first half goals and Colton Hartsock and Ethan Shreve also scored in the first half.

Ryan Lawson scored a pair of second half goals for the Blue Tornado. Goalie Luke Martin and the rest of the Richlands defense shut out the Bulldogs.
