David Lee Addison, age 70, of Richlands, Va., passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. He was born in Richlands, Va., and was the son of Peggy Wilson Addison of Richlands, Va., and the late Earl Addison Jr. He was a mining equipment supervisor for Caterpillar and Long Airdox. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Darlene Gross Addison; one brother, Jerry Ray Addison; and one grandson, Seth Brown. In addition to his mother, he is survived by son, Todd Brown and wife, Laura, of Richlands, Va.; daughter, Cindy L. Addison of Laurens, S.C.; godson, Shane Cole; two sisters, Rita Boyd and husband, Iles P., of Swords Creek, Va., and Becky Jackson of Cedar Bluff, Va.; two brothers, James Perry Addison and wife, Nancy, of N. Tazewell, Va., and Bobby Wayne Addison and wife, Sherri, of Richlands, Va.; four grandchildren, Mattison Strange, Wyatt Strange, Hagan Sean Brown and Landon Seth Brown; several nieces and nephews also survive, along with a host of family and friends. Special thanks to Legacy Hospice staff and employees. A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2015, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Va., with Pastor Mickey Hale officiating. Interment followed at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were brothers, Jim, Bobby, and Iles P. Boyd. The family received friends from 6 until 9 p.m. on Saturday evening, October 31, 2015 at the funeral home.
