James G. Bolt, 86, of Roanoke, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 08, 2019. James proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from the Floyd County School System with 37 years of service and loved his Check Community. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Those surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Pattie Spence Bolt; sons, Ricky (Shelby) Bolt, and Robert Bolt; daughter, Rebecca (Donny) Haynes; granddaughters, Renee Conner, Laura (Nick) Yopp, and Larissa (Seth) Baker; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Baker, Lane Baker, and Matthew Baker; four brothers, three sisters, and numerous nephews and nieces. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Restvale Cemetery with Pastor Stanley "Shake" Smith officiating and Military Rites by the Army National Guard. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Virginia Veterans Care Center.
