MARION, Va. Bobby Joe Alley, age 55, went home on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. Bobby was born in Marion, Va., and was preceded in death by his sons, Austin Alley and Dustin Alley; his mother, Carol Pierce; and stepmother, Francis Smith. Bobby worked at Houston Peter Built and was an avid NASCAR fan. Bobby enjoyed fishing, his morning coffee and newspaper. He was a good man and had a heart of gold. Survivors include his sons, Justin Alley and wife, Scenquenual, of Lufkin, Texas, Nolan Alley and Natelie Guinta, of Syracuse, N.Y.; daughter, Carolyn Miller of Marion, Va.; father, Ed Alley of Marion, Va.; brothers, Ben Alley of Spring Branch, Texas, Eddie Alley of Addison, Texas, and Able Alley and wife, Brenda, of Marion, Va.; sisters, Cindy Poe and Randy Harris of Marion, Va., Donna Wood and husband, Dave, of Baltimore, Md., April Troxel of Marion, and Ava Mitchell and husband, Jason, of Marion, Va.; grandchildren, Kia and Kyra Alley of Lufkin, Texas. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Rose Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Paul Shallenburg officiating. The family received friends on Friday, June 21, 2019, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
