ABINGDON, Va. — Powell Valley National Bank, headquartered in Jonesville, Virginia, has added a new member to its team in Abingdon.

Mark Farris is a vice president and commercial loan officer at the office on West Main Street.

“We are very excited to have Mark join the [Powell Valley] family,” CEO Leton L. Harding Jr. said in a statement. “Mark carries an extensive professional banking background and will play a significant role in the bank, meeting the loan, deposit and financial services needs of the greater Abingdon and Washington County markets.”

Farris has more than 20 years of financial experience, recently serving as vice president and regional market area manager for Highlands Union Bank in Abingdon. A native of Washington County, Farris is a graduate of the Virginia Bankers Association’s School of Bank Management and Emory & Henry College, where he earned an undergraduate degree in business management.
