A Christiansburg man was airlifted to an area hospital on Sunday after crashing his motorcycle on Clear Fork Creek Road.

Virginia State Police Trooper K.S. Bailey said that 25-year-old Brandon Landreth was driving a 2015 Yamaha toward Rocky Gap in the 5200 block when he lost control, ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment.

Police got the call at approximately 5 p.m. and shut down the road for approximately 15 to 20 minutes as rescue personnel tended to Landreth, who complained of a back injury, Bailey said.

An ambulance took Landreth to Bland County High School where a helicopter picked him up and flew him to a Roanoke hospital.

Bailey said that charges are pending.
