Town Council has voted to order 125 t-shirts designed for Floyd Small Town Summer for the 2019 season.

The t-shirts were suggested by Dylan Locke, the event’s coordinator, who has been talking to the town manager about them. If this year’s t-shirts are successful, Council agreed to have a competition for the artwork on the 2020 t-shirts. Vice Mayor Michael Patton said he thought the t-shirts were a good idea and that they could become popular as collector’s items, as the t-shirts for Blacksburg’s Steppin Out street celebration have been. “Also, I think we can use it is a promotional device.”

The year will be the third season of the summer event, which offers music, activities and food sales that support the local Plenty!. Locke told Council that he is excited about the playground now being open and having it in place for the event, which is held on seven Thursdays.
