Non-profits in the New River Valley will participate in the Give Big NRV event on Wednesday, April 24. Included are several local groups.

SustainFloyd wants to continue its Farmers Marker, Floyd Energy Fest and Guide to Floyd Food. Last year the group also raised awareness for climate change and instituted a walk-by recycling center in the Pavilion.

Virginia’s Blue Ridge Music Festival wants to continue to provide educational opportunities and scholarship support for young musicians. Last year the VBRMF offered the Blue Ridge Strings Program for third through sixth grade students and hosted Classical Music of Japan for county students and the public, the VBRMF Festival Spring Concert, anchored by Maestro David Stewart Wiley, and more.

Also participating in Give Big NRV are: Apple Ridge Farm, Blue Mountain School, Blue Ridge Heritage, Floyd Center for the Arts, Floyd Community and Wellness Center, Floyd County Historical Society, Floyd County Humane Society, Floyd PFLAG, Healthy Floyd, Instill Mindfulness SWVA, NRCA, Old Church Gallery, Partnership for Floyd, Plenty!, Springhouse Community School, The June Bug Center, and many more.
