Mint Julep

The Marion Morning Rotary Club will be celebrating one of horse racing’s most celebrated events, the Kentucky Derby today.

The club will host Derby Day on May 4 at Holston Hills Country Club, starting at 5 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes entrance and four bourbon tastings. A BBQ meal will be available for an extra $10 and a cash bar will serve wine, beer and the Derby’s traditional mint julips.

All of this will be done in preparation for the large-screen viewing of the main event, the 145th renewal of “the greatest two minutes in sports,” The Kentucky Derby.

Tickets will be available at the door and from Marion Morning Rotary Club members.

Proceeds from the event support local and regional civic improvement efforts and scholarships provided by Marion Morning Rotary Club.
