Construction is well underway at Sheets for car charging stations and a new car wash.
An official at the Wytheville store said that four charging stations for electronic vehicles will be added in the area between Sheets and Bojangles.
In addition, a new car wash is being installed. The old car wash will be gutted to make room for the new one. The outside structure will remain the same, but the inner workings will be new.
Plans call for construction to be complete by the end of September, but Hurricane Florence could delay completion if work crews are pulled to help in hurricane-affected areas. Florence is expected to hit along the coast of the Carolinas on Thursday.

The Blue Ridge Fudge Lady on Main Street recently closed her doors. The store opened a year ago in the former Coffee and Crumbs location. Owner Robin Burdette served around 30 flavors of fudge, along with ice cream treats and other homemade candy.
Her store in Pulaski remains open.
Burdette said she is sad that her Wytheville venture did not work out.
“Shop small whenever you can,” she said. “Local support is so important in small business survival.”
