8th grade volleyball team wins

The eighth grade volleyball team won twice to improve its record to 4-1. The Buffaloes lost their first game of the season to Galax at Galax Thursday, September 3.
The Tide won the opening game 25-19. Floyd took a 6-2 lead but Galax forged ahead with leads of 15-10 and 21-12 before sealing the win.
Galax took game two 25-23. Billie Quesenberry rallied the Buffaloes within 24-23 before the Tide closed out the match.
The Buffaloes beat Fort Chiswell 3-0 at Max Meadows Tuesday, September 8. Scores were 25-22, 25-17, 15-12.
Hailey Ballinger scored 11 points, including the last six, as Floyd edged the Pioneers in game one. In game two, McKenzie Klatka scored nine points, including the last five of the game. Denise Schmeitzel got match point in the final game.
The Buffaloes picked up another road win, defeating Carroll County 2-1 at Hillsville Monday, September 14. Scores were 25-19, 20-25, 15-5.
In the opening game, McKenzie Klatka scored five in a row, including game point. In game two the Cavs went up 14-11 and 21-15 en route to the victory.
In the third game Billie Quesenberry scored seven points as Floyd went ahead 10-4. Kltaka got the final five points.
