A spokesman for FNB told the Floyd Town Council that bank officials would like more signs for the Floyd location, especially in view of the bank’s recent change in identity to StellarOne.
A felony charge of embezzlement was reduced to a misdemeanor in a case involving a former Bank of Floyd employee.
The expansion will provide more space for equipment and help with ventilation problems.

Judge facing hit-and-run chargeM. Keith Blankenship, a former Wythe County commonwealth’s attorney and current juvenile court judge, found himself on the wrong side of the law for the second time in the past two months Saturday when he was arrested on one misdemeanor hit-and-run count stemming from an April 27 incident in Powhatan County, just west of Richmond.
According to a Virginia State Police new release, Blankenship, 43, was arrested at his Wytheville residence around 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
