White inaguaratedThe crowd was boisterous. Supporters wildly waved images of the gallant luminary. The national anthem was played and a medal was placed around the neck of the man the masses had come to see.
Nope, not a tuneup for the Beijing Olympics. That was the scene on Friday at the Wytheville Meeting Center as Charlie White was formally inaugurated as the sixth president of Wytheville Community College.

“I’ve always been creative in my photography,” noted Boyer, who owns and operates Meadow Hill Interior Decorating and Fine Art Gallery at 175-A Tazewell Street in Wytheville. “And I’ve always been creative in decorating my own home.”
A trailer loaded with $200,000 worth of paintball supplies was saved Sunday night but the Cadillac Escalade pulling it was destroyed by fire. The incident occurred around 8:35 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 a mile from Exit 70 near the Wytheville Commons shopping center.
