Looking for more evidence in the killing of a Wythe County woman, police last week went to the jail cell of a suspect in the crime.
Successful careers are supposed to be vertical, not circular.
But Bradley Tate has found a way to defy business physics by moving up the career ladder and yet happily winding up right back where he started.
The legacy of the late Thomas A. “Tom” Bralley Jr. as a humanitarian and community activist is well known in the town and county he loved. It also stretches to Texas.
It was a tumultuous process with a simple verdict: dive in and play ball!

With the Nov. 4 election nearing, so is the deadline for registering to vote in Wythe County. The last day to register is Monday, Oct. 6, by 5 p.m.
While the Lead Mines Ruritan Club has experienced many changes over the last 60 years, one aspect remains the same. Service to the community is still the organization’s top priority.
Virginia is a packrat – and an especially eclectic one at that.
Luckily for the residents of Wytheville, though, she’s plenty willing to share her collections.
