Domestic assault results in chargesA Rural Retreat man is sought by the Wythe County Sheriff’s Office in connection with an assault on his wife Saturday night. Timothy Cimino, 36, of 302 Musser Avenue is wanted on a warrant for malicious wounding.
According to Chief Deputy Keith Dunagan, deputies were called around 6:50 p.m. to an apartment where they found Marlillian Cimino with bruises and swelling to her head and body. They had her transported to Wythe County Community Hospital where she was treated and released.
Wythe County acquaintances of Frederick Phillip Hammer are reeling from shock.
The man they know as “Freddy P.” was charged with killing three people last week in Grayson County during an attempted robbery.
The Wythe County Sheriff’s Office is losing its hairiest employee.
Boscoe, the K-9 unit police dog, is being sold, possibly as early as sometime this week.
Authorities charged an Ashe County, N.C., man Sunday in connection with the killings of three people at a Grayson County Christmas tree farm.
They also say he may be connected to the disappearance of an Ashe County man nearly a year ago.
President George W. Bush had been on the job for eight months before he had to deal with the disaster of Sept. 11.
New Grayson County Sheriff Richard Vaughan had been at his post for a little more than three weeks before he had a tragedy of his own to manage.
