STRICTLY OBSERVING: Aqua manOver the past few weeks, I have been enjoying sessions of aquatic therapy at the beautiful new Wytheville Community Center through a contract established between the center and Your Bodyworks Therapy Services, where I am a client.
What stinks is that absent any mirrors I don’t feel any older than I did when I graduated high school.

STRICTLY OBSERVING: And a one, two, three, four - 65I’m always impressed when I encounter anyone with even a remote musical talent. Actually, I’m not sure I should say that I’m impressed by them as much as envious. Musical ability is the one talent I wish I possessed, but unfortunately I don’t even have an inkling of such skill. Still, that’s another story. Regardless of my ineptness when it comes to music, I’m an avid listener just the same and appreciate those who can perform it well. While I could brag about my numerous favorite professional musicians all day long, I feel that there is a lot of local talent that is more deserving of recognition.

“What’s wrong with them?” asked Old Blue Rosenbloom. “I watched the race. What I read is exactly how it ended.”

FAIRVIEW: The weight of the farmSo, since pondering a couple weeks back about such abstractions as carbon footprints, the weight of carbon emissions into our atmosphere and the costs of carbon offsets, I’ve been thinking more about real weights, measures and costs.

Greetings from Hickory Ridge. When I was a kid, I was convinced that the Easter Bunny lived in the moon. I saw him in profile, pushing a basket mounted on wheels. The basket was filled with Easter eggs and candy. Where that idea came from I have no idea, but when I look at a full moon, I can see the Easter Bunny clearly.
