RICHLANDS- Patrick County’s run of tough luck in football playoffs continued tonight at Ernie Hicks Stadium as Richlands handed the Cougars their fifth straight playoff loss in school history with a 49-14 thrashing in the Region IV, Division 3 semifinals.

Two high school sports recently honored several area athletes for their performances during the fall sports season. The Virginia High School Coaches Association named the 2007 All-State girls soccer team and three Tazewell players earned places on the team.
