As a young girl growing up in Ceres, Hazel Waddell Sparks never imagined the path her life would take. Last month she was honored as a Harford County Living Treasure by the Harford County Council in Maryland.

A grant to develop a 22-acre industrial park has been awarded to the Bland County Board of Supervisors and the Economic Development Authority. The $200,000 is from the Virginia Indemnification and Community Revitalization for site development at Commerce Park.
