Tires are still rolling out of Bland County. More than 3,700 of them are on their way to a recycling center in Appomattox.
The Bland County band will be marching in style next year.
One group of Bland County elementary students will spend every day next school year going to the principal’s office.

Focused on filmAfter interning last summer at WCYB Channel 5 in Bristol, Blake Stowers decided the news department was not for him. The mass communications major at Emory & Henry College turned to film making instead and recently entered a national competition.

Two longtime employees of the Wolf Creek Indian Village & Museum in Bastian are now co-directors of the popular tourist attraction. Denise A. Smith of Rocky Gap and Penny Plummer of Wytheville are sharing operating duties.
