Outrage erupts again over Wythe County "box" dogs

Old photos of some local flea-ridden dogs are circulating over the Internet again, bringing with them complaints from animals lovers from around the world, who are asking that the dogs be helped.

However, county officials say that while the dogs’ ramshackle home on Walton Furnace Road is not ideal, the animals are being cared for adequately.

    This is a very disturbing situation. Anyone can see from the pictures that this is not an appropriate shelter for anything except a rat. Not sure why the local people are not more proactive about helping these dogs.
