In a brief court hearing on Wednesday, Bland County’s prosecutor dropped the second offense driving intoxicated charge against a local man accused in a fatal Labor Day weekend wreck, but the charge can be brought up again later.

Saying that the case was still under investigation, Bland County Commonwealth’s Attorney Erin DeHart nolle prossed the charge against 25-year-old Justin Ryan Griggs of Narrows in a legal maneuver that allows her to bring it up again later.
