Public support urged for plan to protect Floyd’s drinking water
In the coming months the Va. Rural Water Association (VRWA) will be working with the people and government of Floyd to create a Source Water Protection Plan. The purpose of the plan will be to assess Floyd’s water supplies and come up with creative ways to protect them from contanination and/or depletion. The VRWA is a non-profit organization with no regulatory authority, so success of the plan hinges entirely on citizen participation.
Everyone is invited to the Floyd Country Store tonight (December 10) at either 3:00 or 6:00 p.m. to hear a brief presentation by VRWA’s J.P. Gannon about what you can do to protect Floyd’s water.
