Mark E. Belcher
Mark Ellery Belcher, 49, of Wytheville died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Max Meadows Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Phillip Maxwell officiating.
He was the son of the late Fred and Pamela Brown Belcher.
Survivors include two sisters, Dana Belcher of Fries and Gabrielle Belcher of Antrim, N.H.; a son, Gavin Belcher of Dublin; a sister, Donna Vaught of Galax; three brothers, Matthew Belcher of Roanoke, Timothy Belcher and Eric Belcher, both of Wytheville; two grandchildren, Hunter Wooldrige and Callie King, both of Fries; and several nieces and nephews.
Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
Leon C. Kennedy
Leon C. Kennedy, 75, of Jacksontown, Ohio, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
Funeral service was held Friday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service in Newark, Ohio, with Pastor Tom Hughes officiating. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, at 3 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Rural Retreat with his son, Pastor E.J. Kennedy officiating.
He was born Aug. 31, 1934, in Vivian, W.Va., son of the late Young Hatfield and Attie Cisco Kennedy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Randolph Kennedy; and a brother-in-law, E. George Roberts.
Survivors included his wife of 49 years, Zina M. Roberts Kennedy; a son, Pastor E.J. Kennedy of Jacksontown, Ohio, and formerly of Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, June Etta and Gene Kannaird of Johnstown, Ohio; a brother, Tex E. Kennedy of Princeton, W.Va.; many cousins in southern West Virginia; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Roberts of Heath, Ohio.
The family will receive friends Saturday at the cemetery before the service.
Lindsey Funeral Home in Rural Retreat is in charge of the local arrangements.
Tony A. Warden
Tony Alan Warden, 42, of Roanoke, formerly of Wythe County, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 929 Murray Avenue S.E., Roanoke, with Pastors Mark Manning and Donald Drake officiating. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Draper.
He was born April 2, 1967, in Wytheville. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Roanoke and was employed at State Electric in Wytheville.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Warden of the home; two daughters, Danielle Elizabeth Warden and Lauren Mae Warden, both of the home; two sons, Ryan Stuart Warden and Garret Alan Warden, both of the home; parents, Stuart and Joan Warden of Max Meadows; a sister, Teresa Seavers of Wytheville; paternal grandmother, Virginia Warden of Max Meadows; and maternal grandmother, Lois Johnson of Cripple Creek.
Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
