TAZEWELL – A Dec. 1 public hearing is set for the county’s proposed Ridgeline Protection Ordinance.
The board of supervisors voted Oct. 6 to schedule the hearing for their regular December meeting. They also voted to hold that meeting at Tazewell High School and tentatively set the time for seven p.m.
The board tentatively plans to start its regular meeting at five p.m. at the school and hold the public hearing at the end of the meeting.  County Administrator Jim Spencer said the economic impact study conducted by Springsted would be ready by mid October. A representative of Springsted will attend the Nov. 17 meeting of the board of supervisors and present the results of the study. That meeting will be held at Tazewell Middle School and will begin at five p.m.
Spencer said the presentation would be detailed and require quite a bit of time. The board voted to start the Springsted presentation at 7:30 p.m.  In addition to making the public presentation, Springsted will provide a copy of the report to the Industrial Development Authority,
