Holston defeats Rural RetreatThe Rural Retreat Indians dropped a game to district rival the Holston Cavaliers Friday night at Rural Retreat. Holston took the victory 30-7.
The George Wythe Maroons won their second game in a row and their first district game by pounding the Patrick Henry Rebels 35-7 in a Hogoheegee District football game played Friday night at GWHS.

Bland County defeats Craig CountyBland County’s Bears lived up to their pre-game billing by the Roanoke Times, becoming bad news for homestanding Craig County on Sept. 26 in New Castle.
Medal winners included Austin Grubb, Andrew Grubb and Marina Sulzen.
The home victory was the first in district competition.
