Friday the 13th may not have been unlucky for Richlands in their opening round of the state 11-12 year-old All Star softball tournament at Pound, but Saturday sure was a different story.

The 9-10 year-old Bulldogs were just one strike away from becoming the second Tazewell baseball team to make it to the state Little League tournament this summer.
Lebanon’s Mic Leonard had a full count against him with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning at Bob Huff Field on Monday, July 9 and his team was trailing Tazewell 5-4 with two Pioneer outs already in the books. Leonard had struck out in his previous three appearances at the plate in the game. This time, instead of striking out, Leonard took ball four and walked to first base. Tazewell, just one pitch away from winning the game moments earlier, was now in trouble from a team that just wouldn’t go away!
