Rural Retreat girls finish second and George Wythe boys finish third in district track meetThe Rural Retreat girls’ team placed second and the George Wythe boys’ team was third in the Hogoheegee District track and field meet held Saturday at Patrick Henry High School.
The Patrick Henry Rebels started out strong and held off George Wythe to defeat the Maroons 7-6 in a Hogoheegee District baseball game played Friday afternoon at GWHS.

GW defeats Rural Retreat in soccerCross county soccer rivals George Wythe Maroons and Rural Retreat Indians faced off in a contest for pride and district standing at Indian stadium on Tuesday evening, with both varsity and junior varsity games.
George Wythe traveled to Auburn on a very windy Wednesday afternoon and rallied in the top of the seventh inning to defeat the Eagles 4-2 in a non-district contest.
Thomas Craig, a senior at George Wythe High School, signed a letter-of-intent to play football at Emory & Henry College during a ceremony held Wednesday at GWHS.
