Two plead guilty in Whitetop slaying
Oct.03.2007 - 08:10
Washington County

In an August 2006 letter from the regional jail in Abingdon, Marcus Justin Good said he had been accused of a crime he did not commit.
However, according to police reports, less than a year earlier, he admitted guilt. And a little more than a year later, Good, of Chilhowie, became the second Smyth County resident to plead guilty to the slaying of Stacy James Richardson. The plea, entered in Grayson County Circuit Court last Friday, came almost two years to the day from when police found the 35-year-old Lansing, N.C., man’s body along Chestnut Mountain Road in Washington County. Good also pleaded guilty to a conspiracy to commit murder charge and two grand larceny charges, one for taking Richardson’s 1992 Pontiac Sunfire and another for taking his billfold.
