THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER
OLD VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long,  building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.  America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing,
‘It’s Not Easy Being Green.’

Acorn stages a demonstration in front of the ant ’s house where the news stations film the group singing, ‘We shall overcome.’

Rev. Jeremiah Wright then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper’s sake.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ants food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant’s old house, crumbles around him because he doesn’t maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident
and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders
who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY:  Be careful how you vote in 2010.

O k Repubs, Now the true moral—THE ANTS FOOD IS GATHERED BY THE LOWER WORKING CLASS AND SELDOM SHARED WITH THEM—tHE FOOD IS STOLEN FROM WORKING CLASS PEOPLE WHO PAID FOR THE PICNIC FOOD, AND GIVEN TO THE QUEEN AND UPPER CLASS BEFORE THE LEFTOVER CRUMBS ARE SHARED WITH THE WORKERS, AND APHIDS ARE HELD AS SLAVES TO BE MILKED FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE QUEEN, WITH LEFTOVERS GOING TO UPPER CLASS—-ANTS EXIST IN A SOCIALIST SOCIETY SUPPORTED BY TRICKLE-DOWN ECONOMICS—-

AND THAT IS THE REST OF THE STORY——NATURES’ REAGANOMICS

Freddie, that’s an interesting perspective.

Don’t we all take jobs knowing we are helping those higher in the organizations we freely apply to?

I have a similar analogy from a differing point of view.

A child (aka independent voters) walking to school in the late autumn came upon a shivering, but beautiful snake (liberals agenda in last years election).

The snake begged the child to pick him up and put inside her jacket so he could warm up.

The child refused, saying “If I pick you up, you will bite me” (higher taxes & an expanded liberal agenda).

“No, I won’t do that if you help me”, replied the snake (they wouldn’t raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000).

The child took the snake at his word and placed him under her warm jacket (voters ignored history and were taken by the smooth talk).

Soon the child felt a sharp pain in her neck where the snake had bit her (liberal agenda, massive deficits & unemployment, new cigarette tax, proposed VAT, ET AL).

The child cried out in pain, “You bit me!“, (did things they said they would not do, such as taxes).

As the snake slithers away, he says “You knew what I was before you picked me up” (voters knew before they voted for the liberal agenda).

The child was foolish enough not to trust her experience and everything she knew about snakes before agreeing to pick him up.

That Analogy sounds a lot like a Johnny Rivers’ Song “ The Snake” from the 70’s’‘—But the victim was an old woman in the song—

Man, I send a little joke to pacify you Uptight Right-Wingers and no-one says a word—Then I kick in a little analogy later that evening and ‘BAM’ you Guys are on top of it—

Wouldn’t Life be better if we all just loosened up a little?
