While your Saturday 10/10/09 opinion piece was not one of the silliest it is gaining ground in that category with only a few short months left in the year.
The non-smoking issue in restaurants is a touchy issue and while I am still a reluctant smoker I must say that your limp argument stating “obese people or smokers don’t cost the health system more because THEY DIE SOONER” was truly the height of either ignorance or an immature sense of satire. No, I take that back..it wasn’t even near satire it was more like a blind person directing traffic.
One can only be thankful that the paper comes out twice a week instead of daily because you would bury yourself in barn droppings posing as a wit.
Get real or demote yourself to janitor. I’m certain that job would be a real challenge for you but perhaps you’d grow in such a position because you sure aren’t cutting it as an editor or maven of opinion page editorship.
