CC—Maybe it’s because the contol is taken from the Good Ol Boys in the Chamber and controlled by the state as granted by the Feds—The monies would go to the areas and people affected—-It would be harder to bribe trades with the State and Feds overseeing the local Good Ol Boys

Know what you mean by the Breaks Park, friend—-We were housed there for 4 months while working in that area—Elkhorn City bound every night—Hometown of Patty Lovelace—-That should tell most country folks all they need to know—The Breaks*Grand Canyon of the South*

2012-Corporations are not going to absorb that increase cost.  When they are hit with additional costs, they simply pass that cost increase onto us consumers in the form of higher prices.

If we hit them hard enough they will simply move their headquarters offshore.  That is what Halliburton did to avoid the increased cost & scrutiny.  Their headquarters are now Dubai.

I THINK I COVERED HOW TO PUNISH CORPORATIONS FOR THIS OFFSHORE CRAP IN MY POST YOU ARE RESPONDING TO—BY THE WAY, DIDN’T WE HAVE A PREVIOUS VICE-PRESIDENT WHO WAS QUITE CLOSE AND HAD HUGH ECONOMIC AND BOND TIES TO THIS HALIBURTON COMPANY YOU MENTIONED NOW IN DUBAI?? I CAN’T TOTALLY RECALL BUT I THINK THEY MAY HAVE HAD A FEW SMALL CONTRACTS IN IRAQ AND PROBABLY MADE A FEW DOLLARS, AND ARE STILL PROFITING SLIGHTLY THRU THIS WAR AND REBUILDING—I THINK MANY OF THESE ‘SMALL’ PROJECTS MAY HAVE BEEN AWARDED THRU NO-BID—-NOW IF I COULD REMEMBER WHO THAT V.P. WAS—

Bush & Cheney did a lot of wrong-minded things that I will not defend or condone.  This is an excerpt of my blog almost a year ago with regards of how I felt regarding his administration.  I have spoke out against the GOP when I disagreed with what they were doing.  Below summed up my thoughts on Bush.

If your trying to make a point about Bush.  It was made long ago.

Yes, you did say how to deal with corps that offshore, and I said they will not absorb your taxes or penalties.  You and I are going to pay those taxes & penalties through higher prices.

The Bush Betrayal And Globalization

I voted for George W. Bush twice. I believed he had America’s best interest at heart and viewed him more favorably than his opponents. That is not to say that I have not been very disappointed by him. Most recently is a sense of betrayal.

First disappointment was his leadership and judgement in the execution of the Iraq War. I will not go into the merits of this war. I believe he used too small a force when he initially went in. This needlessly resulted in an increase in cost, in human lives, time spent, and monetary expense. He tried to pull off a war “on the cheap”. This policy has proven disastrous.

For me, last Friday came the ultimate Bush betrayal. The G-20 leaders were in Washington, DC attempting to find common solutions to our world financial crisis. It was at this meeting that I believe that President Bush formalized the selling out of America as a economic and military superpower. He has proven himself to be a globalist amongst globalist. While those other leaders hate him, they coyly embraced him.

In a development that attracted the attention of some media, the U.S. agreed at the conference to the establishment of “supervisory colleges” by March 31, 2009, to monitor “all major cross-border financial institutions.” It is the beginning of a new global regulatory body that could eventually impose and collect a currency transactions tax known as the Tobin Tax, named after the late Yale University economist, James Tobin. Such a tax, which could affect stocks, mutual funds, and pensions, could generate hundreds of billions of dollars a year.

Earlier in the initial post of this thread I stated it was Climate Change supporters & proponents who were attempting to sell us snake oil in the form of Cap & Trade.

They ignore the millions of years that the earth has gone through natural cooling & warming cycles.

They will not speak to the rise in temperatures ending in 98-99. Since that time the temps have plateaued.

They will not speak to the fact that the US will be at a competitive disadvantage with India & China who will not be bound to this bill’s emission limits or the associated cost. Both countries refuse to participate.

Some Democrats, such as Commerce Secretary, Locke have said that Americans should be willing to pay for China’s emissions. What a stupid concept!

Not only would we send them more of our jobs, we would also subsidize their emissions? It is all about the money.

Like so many things that occur in our country that doesn’t seem to make sense, a person usually only has to follow the money to find the rationale behind otherwise indefensible self-defeating policies.

I found an article that gives an example of this, in of all places, the bird cage liner of choice, the NY Times.

The article tells how a big time climate change prophet, Al Gore, has positioned himself to make several million dollars off of the one deal highlighted in the article.

I will give the highlights, and those wanting to read the full article can read the provided link.

WASHINGTON — Former Vice President Al Gore thought he had spotted a winner last year when a small California firm sought financing for an energy-saving technology from the venture capital firm where Mr. Gore is a partner.

The company, Silver Spring Networks, produces hardware and software to make the electricity grid more efficient. It came to Mr. Gore’s firm, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, one of Silicon Valley’s top venture capital providers, looking for $75 million to expand its partnerships with utilities seeking to install millions of so-called smart meters in homes and businesses.

Mr. Gore and his partners decided to back the company, and in gratitude Silver Spring retained him and John Doerr, another Kleiner Perkins partner, as unpaid corporate advisers.

The deal appeared to pay off in a big way last week, when the Energy Department announced $3.4 billion in smart grid grants. Of the total, more than $560 million went to utilities with which Silver Spring has contracts. Kleiner Perkins and its partners, including Mr. Gore, could recoup their investment many times over in coming years.

Silver Spring Networks is a foot soldier in the global green energy revolution Mr. Gore hopes to lead. Few people have been as vocal about the urgency of global warming and the need to reinvent the way the world produces and consumes energy. And few have put as much money behind their advocacy as Mr. Gore and are as well positioned to profit from this green transformation, if and when it comes.

This is but one glaring example of how people claiming to be for the little guy are preparing to stick it to the little guy that they purport to support.

They are quick to dismiss anyone voicing doubts about their claims.

They do so, not out of concern for mankind, but for their personal concern for their own wallet.

Always enjoy your non-biased ‘highlights’, 2012. Keep earning those nickels.
