I have no problem with gay people, and believe they are born gay.  With that said, I find it bothersome that small children are being exposed to subject matter they are not developmentally ready to comprehend.

Why is the left so insistent?

This is social reengineering.  It also usurps parental authority.

Schools are overstepping their mission and authority.

We have seen how our new ‘School Safety Czar’ exercised horrendous judgement in counseling a 15 yo. boy who confided that he was having sex with an adult male.  Czar Kevin Jennings counseled the boy to use a condom.  Jennings made no attempt to notify the school officials, the boys parents or any other authorities.

After this was revealed, Jennings has stated he should have told someone.

Jennings who is also a Gay Rights Activist is also an author of children’s books.  The left denies indoctrinating children, but we have to question their sincerity when we see our ‘Safe Schools Czar’ authoring a book titled “Queering Elementary Education”.  Another kicker about the book is that the back cover acknowledgement is written by none other than Bill Ayers, our favorite leftist nut case.  http://www.amazon.co.uk/Queering-Elementary-Education-Sexualities-Curriculum/dp/0847693694

Is Jennings really the best person that Obama could find for the job?  What does this say about Obama’s judgement or priorities?

Then we have a new video being distributed to elementary schools about a little boy discovering he is gay.

A new accompanying film is being distributed to some schools about an elementary school boy discovering he is gay.  SWVA Today blocked me posting a link to the video, but you can go to http://breitbart.tv/ & watch the video to form your own opinion.

In older children who are further along in their development, maybe its okay to broach the subject, but elementary is too young.  It will be overly confusing to them.

Why the radical left keeps pushing is beyond me.  It gives the appearance of a “get’em while they’re young” mentality.

Don’t get me wrong.  If parents & school officials wish to discuss this issue at an older age than that is their prerogative.

Most of my gay friends knew they were gay at a young age, if they didn’t know they were gay they knew they were different and while I don’t want them teaching my young children the mechanics of being gay any more than I want them to teach them the mechanics of being heterosexual I think the general idea isn’t all that terrible.

It’s my understanding that it’s very isolating to know you’re different, some children don’t have the comfort of having a family who is understanding. I know a young lady right now who is facing homelessness because her parents don’t agree with her sexuality. Coming from someone the child respects, a teacher or counselor perhaps, it could mean the world to a child to hear that it’s ok to be just who you are.

No worries though, that will never make it into public schools in this part of the country. Far too many people are of the “godhatesfags” variety.

J.R. I agree that there may be some “godhatesfags” mentality, as you suggest. But I would argue that there are many more people in this area who acknowledge that homosexuality is not godly, and therefore will oppose any such attempt at indoctrination.

I know this is a pointless statement and there’s no use debating it in these stupid forums, but thought I needed to throw it out there. I totally disagree that people are born gay. I would submit that acceptance of the “born gay” argument is a step toward endorsement of this type of leftist indoctrination.

As for the innocent “mistake” thiat Jennings made in not reporting the sex between the 15y.o. & the adult male, I came across this nugget that could explain his relunctance to get involved.

Just what are his beliefs?  How does he sing the praises of another man who endorses NAMBLA?

But failure to report what appeared to be a case of statuatory rape of a child may be the least of Jennings’ worries. Lori Roman of Regular Folks United points to statements by Jennings a decade or more ago when he praised Harry Hay defender of the North American Association for Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), which promotes the legalization of sexual abuse of young boys by older men.

Roman provides damning details and links here. She also notes that Jennings wrote the forward “to a book called Queering Elementary Education. And another fellow you may have heard of wrote one of the endorsements on the book jacket—Bill Ayers.“ Ayers, of course, is the Weather Underground bomber from the 1960s who is just an “acquaintance” of Obama.

“If the parents and friends of gays are truly friends of gays, they would know from their gay kids that the relationship with an older man is precisely what thirteen-, fourteen-, and fifteen-year-old kids need more than anything else in the world.“ - Henry Hay

2012 - you know you’re just going to get called a homophobe, right?  Why upset the natives?  Maybe you don’t realize that the liberal agenda includes transforming all of us into homosexuals in order to control population, thus save the planet for the evils of mankind.

That would be inaccurate.

As I stated in my original post, I have no problem with gay people.

I think small children are too young to comprehend such subject matter.

This is unrelated.

Most gay people would not endorse NAMBLA, and find it just as bizarre as everyone else.

It is disturbing that the administration hires these folks.

In his book, Obama states “judge me by the people I surround myself with.“

Is this who he had in mind?

I don’t mind talking with you and no one holds me responsible for your personal life nor you for me. I sometimes call kittens pootheads - I hope that does not reflect poorly on you.

apples & oranges

Child abuse destroys lives & leaves their victims screwed up.

Glad to see our friend on the left can be so glib.
