Why don’t you have your obits up to date?
I’ve been looking at these for at least a week.
Surely the papers you sell has the obits up to date.
Why not on your web site???
I do research and I’d like to know, at least during the week,
when people pass, not months later.
This problem concerns every news paper this company
is responsible for in South West VA.
You people need to get on the ball.

I live out of the Wythe or Bland county area now, some times the only way that someone I knew has died is read it here on the computer. I lived and worked in Bland and Wytheville for years. I agree the deaths are late, the funeral is done and over with before I find out the person has passed onto their heavenly home. I am disabled and can’t afford the news paper and it would probably be so late the news would be old when it got to me. Think about it, at any time you could be disabled and have a set income, where you can’t afford to by a newspaper. I had the computer when I was still working. It is my life to what is going on.

The Obits might not be a big deal to you, I care about old friends and co-workers that I worked with for 25 years. I can get to Wytheville from my home in less than a hour.  Now people don’t take time to care about old friends, and co-workers their fast pace of life is only about their self and how they can make more money.  Death comes to every one, and we have no promise of a tomorrow,  funerals are being held at night now because people can’t get off from work to go during the day.  A true friend will be there in good times and bad times,  a true friend will find time to come and see you when you are sick, and do what ever they can for their friend while they are still alive.  When God takes their friend, you will know that you did everything you could to make your friends last days more comfortable by being a true friend to them.

I agree, have been looking for the obits in the Bland Messenger and they are not listed.  This site is so
inferior in keeping up with the Bland news.  The BM used to have a decent site, it has really gone down hill now.

The obituaries are listed under the news heading. To search for Bland County Messenger obituaries, type in “Bland Messenger obituaries” in the search box, and you should find all of the recent listings and archives. Thanks for your interest in our papers.
