Two people in Wythe County are arrested after police say the cooked meth around a child.

The bust happened last week on Holston Road.

Investigators say when they arrived, 28-year-old Paul Kuykendall and 29-year-old Suzette Ramsey had an active meth lab.

They’re charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth, possession of meth and felony child endangerment.

They are being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond

I doubt that it would ever hit the paper… Do you really think that they want anyone to know that they found a meth lab just inside city limits? I don’t think that the police would want that little tid-bit known…

And you just have to wonder what they are going to do with that rental trailer now that a lab was found in it? Because even though they put a BIG RED sticker on the door stating that a lab was once in there, someone took the sticker off the door and started throwing the peoples stuff out in the driveway. So does that mean they are going to rent it out to someone that has no idea that a METH LAB was found in there?

I also wonder why none of the neighbors were not spoken to about the what-if’s of living so close to a working meth lab? I am concerned about the other kids in the neighborhood - they play in these yards… Is it safe or not? What if another family with kids moves in, is it safe for my kids to go over there? So many unanswered questions…

The Enterprise is a small paper, and it usually takes them a good week before news makes it into the paper, unless it is something really big.

the deal is exactly that - A DEAL… I’m not a perfict person by no means BUT somethings that are done around here in the legal system is just wrong…

Such as when someone racks a lot of drug charges they are offered deals such as you get 10 people to do “something” wrong and we will drop one of your charges AND we will give you money also - the adverage is $100 per “something”...

So it appears that someone who gets in to a lot of trouble over drugs is far better off then someone who just gets in to a little trouble, least it seems that way to me anyways….

Well let me just say this.  I know Kia Marie Dunford very well and she went to court 7/16/09.  Look her up she never has pulled any serious time for the very serious crimes she has commited.  The charges are alway dismissed.  I know two people that had dealings with her and now stand to be charged with drug related offenses.  IMAGINE THAT RIGHT!!!  That is not counting two men that are already in jail for her mouth.  Someone needs to shut her up. I would be glad to do it although she runs from everyone she knows she is a NARK!!!!!  well I hope everone gets this to everyone else they know and soon everybody in wythe county will know how she is.  You know its pretty bad when she put here own sister behind bars for over a year. NOt to mention turning her own daddy in when she had nothing to gain. Low down back stabbing trash is all I am allowed to call her on here.

When I read the paper and see indictments that have came out, Im proud to say I turned out to be a good kid. There are people that I hung out with in high school that are always in there. Everyone has something that they are not proud of, but the meth problem around here is really getting crazy. Back in Feb, there was a meth lab bust on my street (Cassell Road) that was 2 houses down from me. Whats funny is that this neighborhood is mostly older people who work, and there are no lights on in any of the houses after 930 pm on a Saturday night. These people have moved back into that house and it makes me nervous sometimes know what they were doing down there, and if they are doing it again.

well the one in the paper has already got a FOR RENT sign in the window - go figure - but in my opinion the reason the meth problem is so bad is because life just sucks so bad - meth works as an antidepressant - a very addictive antidepressant but an antidepressant none the less… even the prescription forms of meth (and yes there are prescription forms of meth) list as the major side affect is a false sense of well being… So when you take the drug you feel like everything is alright…. no matter what…. add that to the constantlyu having to keep up with the rat race we call life now days… it seems like an easy way to do it…. and concider this aspect - people can’t live off social security any more because the cost of living is so high… they have to work in to their 70’s and 80’s…. without something taking away the pain and the body being tired from being old… How else can they do it???? Maybe legalizing some drugs would be better then what is happening each day to our friends and family’s????

I’m a little confused. Are you saying that meth isn’t necessarily a bad thing? And/or that if more drugs were legal our country would be better off? Please tell me I’m misunderstanding this post.

Actually what I am saying is that it can’t be both ways - If you want people to work in pain then make it easier for them to do so and if you don’t want them to be without pain then make it where older people can actaully live on $659 a month - AND other country’s do actually have legalized drugs, gun control and better health care systems in place and those places have less crime - I can’t help it that their systems appear to work better…

I am in no way saying that making anything that will blow-up and is toxic to anything living is right - But if someone wants to smoke a drug filtered with chemicals that will melt a person’s skin to the bone or that if made wrong will blow up a house then by all means feel free to do so in a place that’s far away from other homes and where their are no kids at - Feel free to blow yourself right up - And I personally feel if a person wants to do drugs - let them as long as they are not harming another person - and by that I mean as long as they are not robbing and killing people - Let them smoke their pot in peace - I have never met, known or heard of someone stoned on pot doing anything worse then raiding a frige!

So I guess the answer is yes I am saying that SOME legal drugs would make things a lot better…..

Which countries would those be?

I agree that it’s horrible that people have to work in to their 70’s. But, whose fault is that? The reason they have to work so long is because they put all their faith in a government program that was doomed from the start. Had they managed their own finances and took responsibility for their own retirement investment, they wouldn’t be in that situation. That’s the whole problem I have with these government programs. People are too dependent on them and they are never properly funded…or they MIGHT be if there wasn’t so much pork spending at every government level. If people took a little personal responsibility, this country would be a lot better off.

If you have never met, known, or heard of anyone stoned on pot doing anything worse than raiding a fridge, you must have been in a cave for the past 20 years. I’ve seen more than I care to have seen from people who are “just high on pot.“ I would have no problem with people getting baked in the privacy of their own homes if they would stay there. But, no….these idiots have to go get high out of their skulls and then drive to the store or the bar or somewhere. The very same roads that I travel with my children in the car. I’m sorry, but one person’s “right to be stupid” ends where the safety of others begins. Alcohol is legal but it doesn’t stop stupid drunk drivers from killing thousands of innocent people every year.

Actually, let me make an amendment to that last statement. I have no problem with people who do not have children getting stoned in the privacy of their own homes. Once children are involved, it’s a whole different animal. And don’t tell me that it doesn’t affect the kids. I’ve seen it affect one kid in particular many years ago. I’m not speaking as someone who has no experience with this junk.
