I agree it sounds like someone got the boot but I also find it odd that with over 1300 views that no one has defended this car dealer ship in anyway shape or form I know that the name isn’t posted but come on there is only one Cadillac dealership in Wytheville so don’t tell me people don’t know which one it is.  Don’t get me wrong I am not defending this dealership I have personally had nothing but bad experiences there one of which being a loose oil drain plug that sprayed oil all over the underside of my impala and made my carport very oily.  this just shows me that I am not the only one who finds the incompetence of this dealership amazing how in this time of economic downfall and business’s closing is this place still open.  I know this is just one persons opinion but I am personally glad that someone has posted something about it people should know what they are getting into when they go pay $36.00 for a poorly performed service job that you could go to Wal-Mart and get the same thing for half price.  If the workmanship is the exact same why pay more???

Not making excuses for anyone, but….... People tend to tell the bad and seldom the good experiences. Having been in business myself for almost 35 years, I’ve seen customers have dozens of good experiences and never tell a sole yet make a mistake and they will tell the world. It’s not the irate employee that takes the hit when they make a mistake or sabotages a job, it is the business owner. I don’t know the details or do I care really, it is just the point that a person doesn’t invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into their business and knowingly allow an employee to hurt their customers property and their reputation.

i agree totaly with that statement do 10 good jobs they might tell 10 people make one mistake and they’ll tell 100 people.  i was just making the comint to draw attention that with 1300+ views no one took up for the company why? maybe they to all have nothing to say that differs from the statement i personaly could care less about this company i have no interest or disire to ever return im just sharing my experience with the forum community.

About a dozen of those views were mine.  I live in Smyth county and seldom ever shop in Wytheville so I have nothing to say one way or the other.  The only reason I view it so much is that this site has gone dead since the election.

Back again.  I guess this is number thirteen.  Okay hokie,  got a question for you?  Why is it there is never enough time to do it right but there is always enough time to do it over?  If these places do it right the first time they do not have to worry about those 100 people.  I think that is one of the major problems this country faces.  I remember when “made in the USA” meant it was the best product that could be made.  Yep, quality went down the tube with job security, wages and a whole lot of other standards and principles.  Hope part of the change we are going to be seeing will address that.  Take care.

I was paying attention.  You pay attention.  I did not accuse you of anything.  I just offered an observation, but since you are so thin skinned, maybe that was too forward.

I’ve had 3 really bad experiences with this same group myself.

One was a job they “quoted” for $900 and when complete, it was $1100.  No need to argue.  They keep the keys until you pay.  Opened the hood before I left the lot and saw a shinny place where a bolt was missing and asked the service mgr about it and he brought the mechanic in to throw a bolt in it.  Well the bolt went to the dip stick tube so they bent the dip stick tube so now I have to use pliars to pull the dip stick to check oil.  Not a junky car either.  Now I live with that everytime I change the oil.

The other two are my fault.  Fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice shame on me.  They were even worse than the first and I am ashamed to even discuss.  I called them and asked to speak to the GM.  His secretary said he would call but I never did get to speak with him.

One car took 5 weeks for them to finish.  I called them one day and asked what was the status and was told that they had just pulled it in to start looking at it.  Their eyes were really big when I walked into the shop 2 minutes later and informed them the car was still sitting in the parking lot, where I had just placed my call to them from my cell.  Lost all trust in them from there on.

I think the problem lies in 4 places:

1.  The Service Mgr - Does not follow jobs or gives a quick visual of work performed on jobs, when
    complete.
2.  The Service Mgr - Tells you a lie and says they have just pulled it into shop.
3.  The Service Mgr - Makes excuses, blames UPS, parts house, wrong parts, etc.. no accountability.
4.  The Service Mgr - When professionally asked a question about a job in person, rolls eyes,
wonders, fidgits, etc… not trust worthy.

It gets worse.  Now they have the Subaru line.  It will be a cold day in——before they see my Subie or any other car again.  And as far as buying a new car from them…..  I didn’t even know they sold new cars!  My recommendation is Interstate 81 south.

oh my i see that my posting has recieved much attention. well let me add a few things. the other day osha came into to this certain chevy dealer which has been breakning osha policies for the entire time they have been a business and guess what. in a time of need when employees are being pushed around like no other time in the past osha is givin them another chance. so what are laws for. if i opened my own garage and something was in violation they would hammer me to the wall. its just not right.

I had similar problems with another dealership and I called the company and registered a complaint!  After that, I was treated extremely well and they bent over backward to take care of my automobile.  So, I would suggest calling GM’s home office and reporting this dealership.

I’m just wondering how you know that OSHA was there. I’m not saying it didn’t happen or that OSHA is completely on the up-and-up. I’m just curious as to how you found out.

Do any of you have any idea how many disgruntled employees go to the DOL OSHA web site and make complaints? Founded or not, OSHA is required to investigate. Unless there is a violation that is extremely dangerous, they will give the business a written warning and a period of time to correct the problems. There are few if any businesses that could pass a OSHA inspection 100%. It is sort of like an audit, they will find something no matter what.
