The extent to which the mainstream media have done all they can to protect the brand Obama is amazing. Had this been George Bush, it would have been front page in all the newspapers and the lead story on the nightly news until resolved. How many readers are aware this has been going on behind the scenes?

Apparently the Obama team has been thrown a wrench that they thought they had put behind them. A solid date has finally been issued by the US. Supreme Court for Obama to prove his Birth Certificate. At the bottom I am including a video link that has his paternal grandmother and family members in Kenya stating that Barack Obama was in fact born in Kenya and the birth certificate on file in Hawaii is a filed copy merely documenting his Kenyan birth. The Governor of Hawaii had the Hawaii copy sealed just two weeks ago when access was requested.

If Obama was in fact born in Hawaii, why not release it and put this to rest? Last month his legal team responded to the suit in the Federal Court in Philadelphia that the party bringing suit did not have ‘standing’ before the court, and asked for dismissal. He won the ‘standing’ issue but failed to end the speculation. The case is now quietly before the US Supreme Court and he has been ordered to provide proof by December 1, 2008. The Electoral College meets in December for the official election of our President.

The United States could be headed for a Constitutional crisis not provided for in the constitution. Meaning there is no precedent or constitutional instruct on how to proceed if Obama is found ineligible to serve.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Souter has rejected an emergency appeal for the court to halt the tabulation of the 2008 presidential election results until Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama documents his eligibility to run for the office, according to an attorney who brought the action that challenges the Illinois senator’s standing in the race.

However, the issue isn’t going away, at least for now, since Souter set a schedule for a response from Obama to the challenge from attorney Philip J. Berg.

Berg brought his claims to the Supreme Court after a federal judge dismissed his lawsuit alleging Obama is ineligible to be president because he possibly was born in Kenya.

The judge concluded Berg lacks standing to bring the action.

In a statement today, Berg said he was told by a clerk for Souter that his application for an injunction to stay the election was denied. But he also said the defendants “are required to respond to the Writ of Certiorari” by Dec. 1.

The biggest question is why Obama, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists, simply hasn’t ordered it made available to settle the rumors.

The governor’s office in Hawaii said he had a valid certificate but rejected requests for access and left ambiguous its origin. Does the certificate on file with the Department of Health indicate a Hawaii birth or was it generated after the Obama family registered a Kenyan birth in Hawaii.

Obama’s half-sister, Maya Soetoro, has named two different Hawaii hospitals where Obama could have been born.

But a video posted on YouTube features Obama’s Kenyan grandmother Sarah claiming to have witnessed Obama’s birth in Kenya. <<<< VIDEO LINK HERE. Just click on word Kenya. There are several other related videos in the right hand side-bar of Youtube.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I am not that smart, but I think that you would have to have a birth certificate before you could even run for President. I think that someone would have checked this out before they would even have let Mr. Obama run for President. You can not believe everything you read on Youtube. Have not heard anything about this on the cn news or fox news. Or maybe I just missed something on all the news channels. I’m sorry but I just don’t believe this.

Certificate of Live Birth, is different then a Birth Certificate.  Justice Souter apparently watched the video as well.  Either way Obama has until Dec 1st.

The Philadelphia case said that Berg did not have ‘standing’ and could not bring such a suit.  It said nothing about the merits of the case.

Who started the rumors——Andy Martin.  You’re bringing up Berg in your post but Andy Martin is the one trying to challenge the electoral vote.  Martin is behind the discredited story that Senator Obama is Muslim.  Martin seems to have a direct connection to most of the false stories circulating. Andy Martin was one of the people on a Hannity program about Obama. 

Martin likes to file law suits.  “In the United States v. Anthony Martin-Trigona (1985), the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit wrote that Martin had previously made “viciously anti-Semitic assertions”“

“Howard Kurtz reported that Fox News Channel “now expresses regret for booking [Andy] Martin,“ who has a history of making anti-Semitic and racially charged comments, on Hannity’s America. Kurtz wrote: “[Fox News Senior Vice President Bill] Shine says Hannity disagrees with some of Martin’s past comments. ‘Having that guy on was a mistake,‘ Shine says. “ But Hannity himself defended Martin’s appearance on his show and has not expressed regret on either Hannity’s America or Hannity & Colmes for having hosted Martin.“  Martin doesn’t seem to have alot of credibility.

AFFIDAVIT OF REVEREND KWELI SHUHUBIA

I, Kweli Shuhubia am over the age of eighteen (18) and not a party to the within action. If called to do so, I could and would competently testify under oath as follows

I am an ordained minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ and a native evangelist and translator for the Anabaptist churches in Kenya. I am the official Swahili translator for the annual Anabaptists Conference held each year in Africa, working with the American bishops sitting upon the Continental Presbytery of the Anabaptists Churches of Africa. I am fluent in Swahili and in English. I am a former teacher in Kenya, and travel extensively in the ministries of the Anabaptists Churches of Africa throughout Kenya, Uganda and the Sudan.

It is common knowledge throughout the Christian and Muslim communities in Kenya that Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., the United States Presidential candidate, was born in Mombosa Kenya. Senator Obama’s grandmother still resides in the village of Alego-Kogello, approximately 37 miles from Kisumu City. On October 16, 2008 I went to interview Ms. Sarah Obama at her home. Ms. Obama’s home was flooded with people who were celebrating Senator Obama’s success story. Ms. Obama’s home was heavily guarded by Kenya Police. Prior to the interview with Ms. Obama, I took pictures of Ms. Obama, her grandson who was present and other family members.
During my interview of Sarah Obama; I called Bishop Ron McRae in the United States from my mobile number. I advised Bishop McRae that I was present with Ms. Obama in her home, and wished for him to speak with her. Bishop McRae informed me he would call me right back, to avoid the international costs on my personal mobile phone. Bishop McRae subsequently called me back; Bishop McRae requested permission to electronically record his telephone conversations with Ms. Obama, to which I agreed.

Due to bad telephone connections Bishop McRae had to call me back three [3] times, before we were able to continue our conversation. The telephone interview conducted by Bishop McRae was conducted on loud speaker (speaker phone). During the interview conversation, one of Ms. Obama’s grandsons’s and myself acted as Swahili translators, and as Bishop McRae talked to and questioned Ms. Obama, we would translate what Bishop McRae said to Ms. Obama in Swahili, and then we would translate her Swahili responses to Bishop McRae in English. Ms. Obama can fluently speak Swahili in her native dialect, but cannot read or write.

Bishop McRae asked Ms. Obama specifically, “Were you present when your grandson Barack Obama was born in Kenya?” This was asked to her in translation twice, and both times she specifically replied, “Yes”. It appeared Ms. Obama’s relatives and her grandson, handling the translating,, had obviously been versed to counter such facts with the purported information from the American news media that Obama was born in Hawaii. Despite this, Ms. Sarah Hussein Obama was very adamant that her grandson, Senator Barack Hussein Obama, was born in Kenya, and that she was present and witnessed his birth in Kenya, not the United States. When Ms. Obama’s grandson attempted to counter his grandmother’s clear responses to the question, verifying the birth of Senator Obama in Kenya, Bishop McRae asked her grandson, how she could be present at Barack Obama’s birth if the Senator was born in Hawaii, but the grandson would not answer the question, instead he repeatedly tried to insert that, “No, No, No. He was born in the United States!” But during the conversation, Ms. Sarah Hussein Obama never changed her reply that she was in deed present when Senator Barack Obama was born in Kenya. A copy of the Tape transcript is attached hereto as EXHIBIT “A”.
I left Kisumu City and traveled to Mombosa, Kenya. I interviewed personnel at the hospital in which Senator Obama was born in Kenya. I then had meetings with the Provincial Civil Registrar. I learned there were records of Ann Dunham giving birth to Barack Hussein Obama, III in Mombosa, Kenya on August 4, 1961. I spoke directly with an Official, the Principal Registrar, who openly confirmed the birthing records of Senator Barack H. Obama, Jr. and his mother were present, however, the file on Barack H. Obama, Jr. was classified and profiled. The Official explained Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. birth in Kenya is top secret. I was further instructed to go to the Attorney General’s Office and to the Minister in Charge of Immigration if I wanted further information

The above related facts are true and verifiable to the best of my personal knowledge before God Almighty, whose I am and whom I serve.

If an American woman living overseas has a child, does this mean that her child is not an American citizen?

According to this Wikipedia article (which isn’t exactly clear), both parents of a child born outside of US coil have to be US citizens for the child to automatically be a citizen.  So no, Obama would not be considered a US citizen if he was born in Kenya since his father was Kenyan.  It should be relatively easy to determine where he was born.  There should be records of when his mother traveled outside of our country.

Also, McCain’s citizenship is not exactly run-of-the-mill either.

John McCain, who ran for the Republican party nomination in 2000 and was the Republican nominee in 2008, was born at the Coco Solo U.S. military base in the Panama Canal Zone to U.S. parents. Although the Panama Canal Zone was not considered to be part of the United States, federal law states: “Any person born in the Canal Zone on or after February 26, 1904, and whether before or after the effective date of this chapter, whose father or mother or both at the time of the birth of such person was or is a citizen of the United States, is declared to be a citizen of the United States.“ The law that conferred this status took effect on August 4, 1937, one year after John McCain was born — albeit with retroactive effect, resulting in McCain being declared a U.S. citizen.

However, not only did a law make him natural-born, since he was born on a US military base, but both of his parents were citizens already.

Can WythevilleMom (lol) point me to a link on the SCOTUS website showing this December 1 deadline? I have searched and found nothing showing a writ being granted for argument on that date; I would be interested in reading the facts of the case.

Also, any court will generally avoid making a ruling on the merits of the case if there is a pretrial issue raised (such as standing). Thats not a cover-up - thats just how the judicial system works in every case, every day.

I want hard facts, not links to youtube videos and supposed sworn statements from unknown persons in Kenya. The only hard fact I see is Obama has a certified document from the State of Hawaii showing he was born in Honolulu on 8/4/61 - thats all I need to know.

The reality is that come January 20, 2009, Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States; I am looking forward to a healthy debate on solving real problems such as job losses in non-service sectors, the continued loss of our manufacturing/technical base, development of economically feasible non-fossil fuel energy sources, increased space exploration/rapid phase-in of the Aries/Orion vehicle, and ways to reduce medical and higher-education costs.

I would think that every voting American citizen and the election of the office of President of the United States of America would qualify as having a “tangible interest.“ Why not just release the stupid thing and stop all the speculation and finger pointing? SHEESH! These politicians and all their talking without really saying anything. It’s not rocket science. If you have the document, then make it public. Since when do we have to take the words of “state officials” as truth when there could very well be hard evidence? How about you just show us the document instead of flapping your gums?
