I haven’t checked with the Starbucks here in Wytheville, but it appears they are offering a free coffee to people that vote.

It’s a shame there isn’t a Krispy Kreme or Ben & Jerry’s around, because they’re giving away free stuff too.

maybe if we e-mail them a pic of us with our “I voted” stickers, they’ll send us some coupons.

Starbucks yanks free-coffee deal
The company said an e-mail offering a free Starbucks iced coffee was sent to a limited group of employees in the southeast on August 23, with instructions to forward it to friends and family.

But apparently the promotional coupon, which was widely posted on the Web, was a little bit too successful: Starbucks said on Tuesday that, effective immediately, the offer would no longer be valid at any Starbucks locations.

They were definitely giving away free coffee at some stores.  I read several reports on the Roanoke Times blogs about the free giveway.  Here’s a couple:

At 10:30 a.m., I saw a long drive-through line at a Southwest Roanoke Starbucks. Likely, those were people waiting for free Election Day coffee. Let me know if you took advantage of any of the Election Day freebies today at Starbucks, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Ben & Jerry’s and others that you noticed.

we voted in & out no problem. We also stopped at Starbucks & scored our free coffees.

I don’t think you needed a coupon, just your “I voted” sticker.

I meant B&J;and KK since we don’t really have any local stores for them. They could just send us coupons :)

Gee, aren’t they nice…too bad they wouldn’t give the firefighters water on 9/11 in NYC.  Apparently they think performing your civic duty is more important than heroic efforts….
