I feel Obama won, because he connected with people, not because you are an authority

You’re exactly right on both counts.  Let’s discuss how Obama connected with the people for a moment.  Did he sit down and have nice face-to-face conversations with the 67.8 million voters that supported him? Probably not.  So how did he “connect”? Two ways: advertising and news media.  Obama spent more than twice as much as McCain on advertising.  The media portrayed Obama in a positive light much more than McCain.  So certainly Obama did a lot more connecting than McCain - he had many more opportunities.

Louggg,  you need to remember that to Conservatives,  money is now and always will be more important to them than either people or policies.  Any time you down play the importance or effect of money as opposed to people you are going to be shouted down.  They cannot help it, it is inbred.

Or, apparently you can be a liberal, and make negative personal remarks against other people, instead of discussing the issues.  Louggg makes some sarcastic remark about me being “an authority”, while you talk about my breeding.  I guess when you can’t argue logically against someone’s statements then you have to attack them directly.

drover - money is important to conservatives because it is at the root of people’s lives and the core of many issues.  Examples - “card check” is not about people, it’s about increasing union dues by risking coersion and intimidation while voting for representation.  The Nat’l Citizens Security Force isn’t about people, it’s about power and control (not to mention the enormous funding Obama promised).  Increasing medical costs and taxes to businesses isn’t about people, it’s about jeopardizing the entrepreneuial spirit and risking job creation.  Not providing care to a born-alive infant from a botched abortion isn’t about people, it’s as inhuman as it gets.  Obama made a lot of people feel that this election was about them when, in reality, it was all about him.  He won through advertising and taking advantage of people’s ignorance.  I’m going to be sick if I hear one more person recite from the anti-Bush playbook.

Conservatives have more compassion for people than any liberal ever dreamed of having…that’s why conservatives might show up to a knife fight with a Bible whereas a liberal will show up to a knife fight with a molatov cocktail.  Liberals only have compassion for those who share their views.  The ACLU has yet to call Joe the Plumber concerning illegal background checks and I expect they will not.

I already have a title for my blogs beginning Jan 20th…“He Told You So (The Obama Chronicles).“  Hopefully, I’ll have nothing to write about.

Dan - surely liberal tactics are not new to you.  We witnessed the same throughout the campaign season.  In American politics, the term “liberal” relates to a liberal, or loose, interpretation of the Constitution.  Interpretting this document in such a way inherently undermines any sensible argument a liberal can make.  Some solid arguments can be made on specific issues but there credibility is still questionable with regards to the law of the land.

I share the blog with a friend.  Although nobody reads it, writing can be theraputic in and of itself.
