Ever sit out in the warm sun and enjoy the sunshine then move to the shade when you started getting to warm? At least you have the choice to move. What if you where forced to stay out in the sun all day everyday with no shade and no water? How would you like to live in those conditions everyday with the temperature reaching 90+ degrees. There are many dogs and other animals around our area and across this country who have to endure this hardship each and every year. Their owners are to sorry to move them to a shaded area and do not give them clean fresh water each day. I’ve heard them say “ If the dog is so stupid he knocks over his water then to bad!” All the time the poor dog is dragging a chain around and the so called intelligent species left the water dish out where it can not help but get knocked over. Most of the time they don’t even check on the dog, just let them sit all day in the hot sun, no shade, no water. This is animal neglect. Leaving a animal trapped in a car with the windows rolled up or open about an inch is just as bad if not worse. Animals can and do have heat strokes from these things. Do not take a animal shopping and leave them trapped in a car for 30 minutes to an hour. The temperature in a car can reach the upper 90’s on a day with the outside temperature is in the lower 80’s in just a few minutes. Do you like sitting all day in the hot sun or sitting in a car with the windows rolled up? Animals will lay in the sun but SHOULD be able to move to the shade if they choose to! Animals are no different than people, they get hot and they get cold, ask yourself, would you be to hot or to cold then you’ll know if your dog is to hot or to cold. Would you be willing to trade places with your dog?
