Thank for the info. I am about sick of this person. Racist is not the word for it or what ever it is. People are all the same. Just different color’s. Some people can’t leave well enough alone. Sounds like this person needs alot of prayer. No matter if Jesus is black, white, or Jew he loves us all. God may have put Obama here for a reason.

Note: After taking a look at posts by “wythevillemom” I would like to let the community know a couple of things.

1. I do not see anything that this person has posted that violates the terms of use for this forum and thus hesitate to remove or otherwise modifying said posts.

2. I will make the following info available to the loyal members of this forum.
The IP address of the poster “wythevillemom” originates:

UNITED STATES     MARYLAND     CLINTON     20735

Because of the eccentricities of the internet that is not 100% that that person is located at that local, but their is a high probability.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

I’m not local, but no I don’t work for a campaign.

I used to live and work in VA. I also have relatives and friends I like to visit. I was interested in checking in with views here, and posting my own. A beautiful state. Thanks for letting me post!

I must admit, I have been steering clear of the forums as I have seen much of this political wrangling.  Every time I go to the front page and see all these political ads and such, it just makes me not want to get into the forums at all.  Anyway, don’t we get enough of this through the TV, phone calls, e-mails and flyers in the mail?  Anyway, glad to see it’s frustrating other people as much as me! :)

Just for the record, I grew up in Wythe County and lived there until a few years ago.  So I don’t want to be blacklisted for my zip code. I still visit quite often and read the paper online on a weekly basis to keep up with what is going on.  Just don’t forget that locals sometimes move away and still care about what is going on in Wytheville. Thanks!

I post on other sites; where my daughter lives, where my parents live.  I like to keep in touch with news and events that are going on.  I care about my family and the town in which they live. I blog on different webites.

Your view is little askewed, ynot.  Are you going to try to chase off every person that has a different zip code or “expose them for what they are?“  Geeez…that sounds a little radical to me.  “You are in my backyard…get out!“  Yikes.

I believe the point is this:  Political campaigns hire (and pay) operatives to infiltrate free online forums and post advocacy messages, without revealing source.  In a hard copy newspaper or magazine, such messages are clearly identified as “paid political announcement.“  Even TV and radio ads are clearly identified as ‘paid political message.‘  What may be happening here is the paid operative of a campaign using the FREE space for what should be a PAID advertisement.  They’ll go away by November 4!

I came to the site looking for a place to send a letter to the editor, and found your forum. This would have been my letter to the editor, but instead is my first post to the forum!

This election year I am what I have always said people should not be – a single-issue voter. I am voting the economy.

Republicans have called Democrats the party of big government, tax and spend liberals. In fact, the United States is a big country, and it requires a big government. The major function of government is to administer a fair system of taxation and to use the money wisely to maintain physical and financial security, services, and infrastructure for a sustainable system.

All governments are “tax and spend.” That is how they keep things running. Under Republican leaders, we have failed to sustain our physical and financial security, services, and infrastructure. Republicans have traded these critical supports for tax cuts for wealthy citizens, an ill-conceived and poorly executed war in Iraq, and an unrealistic energy policy that benefits the oil industry and breaks working people’s budgets. The rest of the developed world has moved ahead of us in wind and solar power as well as transportation and communications technology. Among developed nations, we have the highest infant mortality, which is a significant statistical measure of quality of life. These are all Republican economic failures.

This election year we literally cannot afford to be distracted from the dismal failure of Republicans to govern. There is a hard road ahead even with intelligent and resourceful people in leadership. It will be the height of irresponsibility to be distracted by divisive social issues put forward by people who don’t even know where the middle class lives. John McCain thinks that you are in the middle class if you make less than $5 million a year. For practical purposes, it in fact ranges from about $40,000 to about $150,000. People in this group include small business owners, entering professionals, and people with a lifetime of work for wages and now nearing retirement.

I am voting for Barack Obama. I do not expect that he will rebuild the middle class overnight, but I believe his ideas are those that we need, particularly in economics.

I think you hit the nail on the head.  The McCain campaign is running low on funds so it’s cheaper to pay a miniscule amount to someone and let them post the same message on multiple forums.  I wonder if they will have a job with McCain/Palin if they win the election or will they be left behind with barely a thank you.

You’re right everyone.  There are armies of people paid to join fora like these and post, post, post and get us stirred up.  Who knew WythevilleMom wasn’t a WythevilleMom?  How unfortunate.
