You shouldn’t be the least bit surprised if staffers for either presidential candidate make posts to these forums supporting their boss.  I have been seeing a lot of people sign up just to make a post about one candidate or the other.  Now of course this is a very polarizing issue, and locals will sign up just to make their opinion known.  However, there will certainly be posts made by staffers or people outside our region trying to sway us one way or the other.  These people could be, supposedly, posting of their own accord, and thus would be anonymous and not represent the candidate in an official capacity (in other words, don’t expect them to indicate that they are part of a campaign).

We will also see (and have seen) people post here that are copy / pasting their support for one candidate or the other to forums all over the internet.  That’s called spamming, and I have little respect for that behavior.

Dan you are 100% correct.  I just discovered something that would be of interest to every one on this site.

Remember washingtonrpt??while doing some research my wife discovered that WythevilleMom and
washingtonrpt could be the same person.
Look what “wythevillemom” posted 8 october 2008 @11:55AM under John’s “Who"s your favorite candidate”
then look at   http://talkback.lancasteronline.com/index.php?showtopic=79365&st=45
under washingtonrpt.  Both post are identical.
It was my belief when washingtonrpt was posting here that he worked for the McCain campaign or for the
RNC because of his zip code.

I just checked this link and everything posted by “wythevillemom” comes from this blog.  Also really strange is that the link shows the person as a 37 year old female but shows picture of a man.
http://washingtonroundup.blogspot.com/

I also checked “artcar” and he has posted in Wisconsin and Ohio so he is also a shady character.

I am happy to see that someone caught this.  I suppose we should have realized the political cronies would post to try to sway voters.

I do not understand why all the fuss.  Of course people are going to “stump” for their candidate.  Let us look at this situation as a compliment; they could have chosen a different paper in which to post!

I don’t think it is a badge of honor for them to post.  Of course it is free speech but at least it was pointed out that the same post is on multiple sites.  Any time I see the same thing posted on several forums, I think it is spin from the candidates, regardless of the party affiliation.  We need less spin and more honor and truth.

You see the same post on several forums?  You mean you read several forums?  Do you also post on more than one forum?  Does your opinion change depending on which group you are posting with?

The point is, I don’t find it alarming that someone expresses their opinion in more than one place.

I don’t post on other sites nor do I have a blog.  I don’t have a problem with those who are actually posting their opinion rather than an operative for either candidate posting something as if they are a local person.  I would like them to give that information-if they are bloggers or campaign staff.  I was trying to get information for myself on the election when I came across some of these duplicate posts which sound like political strategists speaking.  I would have less problem with it if the person would truthfully identify himself/herself as such rather than misrepresenting who they are.  This is one of the many reasons we as a nation have lost faith and trust in the political process.

As Dan has said and I agree,  “That’s called spamming, and I have little respect for that behavior.“

I post on other sites; where my daughter lives, where my parents live.  I like to keep in touch with news and events that are going on.  I care about my family and the town in which they live. I blog on different webites.

Your view is little askewed, ynot.  Are you going to try to chase off every person that has a different zip code or “expose them for what they are?“  Geeez…that sounds a little radical to me.  “You are in my backyard…get out!“  Yikes.

There is a vast difference between asking for the bloggers to actually post the truth of their actions and running them off.  If the person has a blog, I would like them to acknowledge that.  If they are affiliated with a campaign, I would like them to acknowledge that.  No where did I ask that they be “run off”.  Your manipulation of my posts sounds much the same as the political operatives for the campaigns.  Turn the phrase into something which it is not…such as lipstick on a pig.

I am not a political operative for a campaign.  I am just a voter, like you.  One who cannot see Obama winning this election by merit alone.  He has none.

At the present time Obama is ahead 7 to 12 points in the polls on his own merits, but McCain, Palin and now Bobby May is giving him LOTS of help. Do you think McCain/Palin would help my man Barr??  Bobby May is from your part of the state do you know him??

Right now Obama is ahead in the polls +7.6 nationally.  He is ahead in Virginia +6.3.  My reference comes from Real Clear Politics.  I usually do not go by the polls.  I have been told: there are tales, lies and polls.

Bobby May was dumped by the McCain camp.  Barr?  I find the Libertarian Party a bit too racy (not racist) for my tastes.

Actually, Bobby May resigned after his supposedly “racist” comments.  Dumped, resigned; put it into your own perspective.

I do not condone racism, either.  Kudos to McCain.

one more morph for WythevilleMom.  He/she/it just posted more here, the same post are are on washingtonroundup.con by washingtonrpt, also on topix by allentownguy, also on lancasteronline.com by washingtonrpt.
On washingtonroundup he/she list hometown as Washington, DC 46 year old female but has picture of a man.    on topix he/she list hometown as Allentown, PA and shows same picture.

I don’t know where he/she/it starts but looks like washingtonrpt>wythevillemom>allentownguy>?????

Someone ask how we know of the duplicate post and if we post on the other sites, no we do not post anywhere other then at this site.  We know the other sites by taking the title or a string of words from the
post and search on Google Advance Search.  For example use WythevilleMom topic “Obama on Defense.  Naivety On Parade” put it in Google Advance Search and it will return the lancasteronline and the topix sites.

The people who do the multi site post are most likely paid political operatives, in this case from the McCain
campaign or maybe from the RNC
