The Lead Mines Rescue Squad would like a extend a very big ‘Thank You’ to all those who came and supported our organization this past Saturday by participating in the Longaberger Bingo at Fort Chiswell High School, as well as those community members and businesses who donated money, food, or, simply, their time to help us organize this event.

The proceeds from this event will be used to fund our completely volunteer organization. In this day and age, a completely volunteer EMS agency (one that does not charge for services nor pay its members) is a rarity. Along with Rural Retreat Lifesaving Crew, Lead Mines is the only other completely volunteer EMS agency in Wythe county. Through donations and community support, we are proud to say that we can help those in need in our communities without expecting payment in return. With fundraisers like these, we are able to accomodate for the rising costs of fuel and supplies, as well as to purchase better equipment so as to provide the highest-quality emergency medical care possible to the citizens of eastern Wythe County
