Did you know that currently if you take a dog or cat, puppy or kitten to a Wythe County Animal Shelter or Wytheville Cat Shelter it can be euthanized immediately? The only way it may get any time at the dog shelter depends on what day it is turned in. At the cat shelter it doesn’t seem to matter when it’s turned in as the cats are euthanized asap! I know that space limitations are a factor but why are they euthanizing adoptable animals as fast as they can? It cost money to kill these animals and more money to dispose of them. They GET an adoption fee when they adopt them out, or at the very least could save the expense of killing these animals. Does this make any sense to anyone?
Just recently a dog died of parvo while at the Wythe County Shelter. Please try to find a home for your pet before going to a KILL Shelter. I’ll place free ads on my website. http://www.je923.com, follow the instructions listed.
Correction: For cats it is a boarding fee, they do not have an adoption fee.
