Sounds like roadchamp must have issue with Turn One.  Maybe he has gotten kicked out or has a big interest in trying to close Turn One.  No one should have that big of an issue with how Turn One is run unless they are pissed off about something? No one has ever begged this person to come and spend money at Turn One so whats his problem. Whoever you are you have no idea what you are talking about!!! Wonder what your agenda really is and what you hope to gain??? If drug problems are your business I would truly love to direct you to some of the biggest drug dealers in town and you could go on your little crusade with them. It is so apparent you are totally clueless and just trying to make Turn One look bad for some benefit of your own.  Wonder What?

Oh great Road!  You came on here on the high road to begin with and spout your personal comments Turn One, saying “IT must go”.  I call you out about it, hurt your feelings and now you want to take your ball and go home?  You never responded to the first question I asked you… your comment about articles in the paper on Turn One being charged and investigated… and if you read about Turn One being cleared in a lawsuit.  You just said I attacked you and complain about your rights.  My reference to high school and truck stops was meant to note that drug exchanges happen there as well.  Fights too. Should they be closed too?  There’s 500.000+ bars in this country.  Turn One is just one of a few in this town.  A few people come in there last Wed and start trouble and the bar handles it correctly and as best they can.  The police charged and arrested the perps.  It was in the local newspaper.  I far as I know Turn One was not charged with anything by police or the ABC.  The bar has canceled the Wed DJ and barred everyone involved in the incident.  You come on here acting as judge and jury and say “it must go”.. of course I responded.  So will others.  We that go there for food, bands, good times are tired of Turn One being other peoples favorite place to bash.  Cathy runs a fine restaurant, provides quality entertainment, in a secure manner and pays her taxes…for 12 years now.
So, you stay on the high road.  So typical.

lol..dololly.  Please point out my misspelled words and I’ll go back and correct them all just for you.  Would that make you happy?
So typical of so many no-it-alls on forums… no relative comment, just comment on spelling.  (The Barack Obama reference was about whenever someone says anything about him or what he says he has been attacked… didn’t you get that?)

I don’t have a hidden agenda, nor do I care that Turn One stays open, I would just like to stop hearing about what goes on there from friends of mine who want the same thing, to go out and have a drink with good food and enjoy music without worrying if they are going to be beat up or shot at before the night is over. It is my opinion, and again, only mine, that the management does NOT do a very good job of keeping trouble out.  I stopped going there three years ago when the establishment started catering to a different clinetile in the hopes of increasing their profits, customer not with standing. I understand that it is a business, but they lost some good customers with their changes.

I did read the article about them winning their court case, not a lawsuit, but I could be mistaken, it has been awhile. I also understand that the reason it was dropped was because a witness was too scared to testify to things that went on. Did someone threaten that person???  Makes me wonder.  Anyway, have fun at your selected place of enjoyment and if you get in an altercation (God forbid) and get hurt (again, I hope not) because of it, maybe you will have something else to write about.

It seems to me that you are awful upset over one persons opinion, a minor one at that. I am not alone in how I feel. Hope you have a safe and happy life and know where you could buy a used bullet proof vest for your visits to Turn One. You may need it.

Turn One has not lost any business Thank You and thank god you are no longer a customer. Maybe thats why business has increased so much jerks like you aren’t here anymore.  Who cares if you want to see a sporting event go to another bar out of town where no one knows you.  It would be better for everyone in Wytheville not to here all you stupid lies which you have no evidnece of.  You need to get a llife sounds like it’s pretty boring ha ha We will continue to have great bands and sporting events without people like you.

Road you amuse me.  You just might not be the bar type.  I have played in many, many bars through the years.  Turn One is by far the least rough I’ve seen.  Perhaps the change you speak of is relative to Wed DJ nights, I don’t know.  I assure you no one will be wearing bulletproof vests in there… unless you want to come by…  and I’ll buy you a beer!  T

one of the incidents i referred to in which a person left t.o. and got killed involved a young man i knew. not a close friend but an acquaintance i met at turn one. very nice young man. he and a young lady who shall remain nameless decide to engage in a friendly “drinking contest”. the young lady i am referring to could throw them back with the best of em. the bartender(who i will not name here, but you know who you are) acted as scorekeeper in this “contest”. the last score i heard(and i know this because i was one stool away from the young man)was 18 beers and four liquor shots each. and the contest went on for a while longer. a little while later i looked around and realized the young man had left the bar. the next day i heard he had gotten on the interstate travelling the wrong way and head-onned a tractor trailor. and turn one bore no responsibility for that incident even though the bartender found great humor in being ref for this contest in which the young man that died was ultimately the big loser. bottom line…they let him leave that bar knowing full well how drunk he was. thank you.

It is this simple people… Yes everyone is entitled to their own opinion but to publicly bash a member of our community (everyone knows who owns Turn One) is despicable. Cathy is a wonderful person who would give the shirt of her back to anyone who asked for it.  She has and will continue to run Turn One wonderfully. IF YOU DON’T LIKE THE WAY TURN ONE IS RAN, THE PEOPLE WHO GO IN TURN ONE, THE BARTENDERS, BOUNCERS ETC DO NOT GO THERE. There are plenty of other people who like to go there, and for your information that does not mean they, we, are bad people thank you very much, so stay out and go to BP and buy a 6 pack of Zima, put your nipple on it and cuddle up to your mother because we don’t want you there anyway.

cathy ius a good person. i agree. the things that go on out there are not her fault and she can in no way be blamed. she can not control other peoples behavior. but at the same time, theres a sign out there (or there used to be) that stated no one under 18 is allowed in the bar after 9:00 pm. so why was there an 18 year old high school student in there after midnight. i know for a fact the rules have been bent out there for years depending on who you are and who you know.  anyone who agrees with that manner of operations is an idiot. you either have rulwes or u dont. theres no in between.
