The Bail Out That Could Have Worked

The $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. What about giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000.000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.. So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion that equals $425.000.00. The plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would Not be tax free. So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has 297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife has 595,000.00. What would you do with 297,500.00 to 595,000.00 in your family? Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved. Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads. Put away money for college - it’ll be there. Save in a bank - create jobs. Invest in the market - capital drives growth. Pay for your parent’s medical insurance - health care improves. Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else. Remember this is for every adult U. S. Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces. If we’re going to re-distribute wealth lfet’s really do it....instead of trickling out a puny 1000.00 (vote buy) economic incentjive that is being proposed by one of candidates for President. If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out ever adult U S Citizen 18+! As for AIG - liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up. Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t. Sure it’s a crazy idea that can never work. But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party! How do you spell Economic Boom? I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion. We Deserve It Dividend more tha the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC. And remember, This plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because 25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam..

Wall Street bail out--how much is it costing you????

How much is the Wall Street bail out costing YOU???? Who knows, Bush/Paulson says $700,000,000,000.00!!
That an estimate, BUT remember this is the same administration that said the Iraq war would cost the tax payers nothing.........There are many saying the cost will soar to above $1 trillion.

This we know now:

1. Bush/Paulson has ask congress for $700,000,000,000.00 and has ask that no controls be added to the request. This equates to approx $2325 for every man, woman and child in the USA.

2. To bail out of Wall Street firms. On Meet the Press Sunday Paulson added FOREIGN BANKS. I am now hearing on the news that CREDIT CARD companys are also on the bail out list from Bush/Paulson.

3. The bail out request also contains a request to raise the National Debt to $11,315,000,000,000.00.
This equates to approx $37,591.00 for every man, woman and child in the USA.

If I have made mistakes feel free to correct.
(to caculate cost per person I rounded the population to 301M)(the 2007 estimate is 301,139,947)

Watch and send these three videos to everyone you know and quickly. If you can copy it, do so because there is intimidation to remove these videos from the internet and they may not stay up. Seeing and hearing is believing. Before we can resolve the complicated issue of a “bailout,” we must first understand the forces and individuals who put us in this position. Thank you very much!! Please do not procrastinate and send these out. Censorship is alive and well in America.

New meaning of protect and serve

I used to feel safe in my small home town of Saltville Va. but recently the charges being brought against various members of the Smyth County Police department on alleged drug charges, the what I call out right “dog fights” at nearly 99% of town council meetings, and the absolute aggressive response when making arrests by the town police makes me question the term protect and serve. I feel as though that some feel that because they hold the positions they hold that they are above the law themselves. What do you think?

Pet Food Recall, Special Kitty, Ol’Roy, Pedigree to name a few

Mars Petcare US Announces Nationwide Voluntary Recall
Franklin, Tennessee (September 12, 2008)—Today, Mars Petcare US announced a voluntary recall of products manufactured at its Everson, Pennsylvania facility. The pet food is being voluntarily recalled because of potential contamination with Salmonella serotype Schwarzengrund. This voluntary recall only affects the United States.

Salmonella can cause serious infections in dogs and cats, and, if there is cross contamination caused by handling of the pet food, in people as well, especially children, the aged, and people with compromised immune systems. Healthy people potentially infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. On rare occasions, Salmonella can result in more serious ailments, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms. Consumers exhibiting these signs after having contact with this product should contact their healthcare providers.

Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Animals can be carriers with no visible symptoms and can potentially infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.

The company stopped production at the Everson facility on July 29, 2008 when it was alerted of a possible link between dry pet food produced at the plant and two isolated cases of people infected with Salmonella Schwarzengrund.

Even though no direct link between product produced at Everson and human or pet illness has been made, Mars Petcare US is taking precautionary action to protect pets and their owners by announcing a voluntary recall of all products produced at the Everson facility beginning February 18, 2008 until July 29, 2008 when we stopped production.

The company is continuing to work collaboratively with the FDA to determine the nature and source of Salmonella Schwarzengrund at the Everson facility. Since it has not yet identified the source of the Salmonella Schwarzengrund at the Everson facility, Mars Petcare US does not plan to resume production out of a commitment to the safety of our pet owners and their pets, customers, and associates.

The top priority of Mars Petcare US has always been and continues to be the health and welfare of pets and their owners. Consumers can continue to have confidence in the quality and safety of the products produced at other Mars Petcare US facilities. Only those products which were produced at the Everson facility are impacted by the voluntary recall.

Many of the brands involved in the recall are national brands produced at multiple facilities. A chart for all products is below. For example, PEDIGREE® is manufactured in numerous facilities throughout the country, and Everson represents a very small portion of the manufacturing base – 2.7 percent of total PEDIGREE® production.

Mars Petcare US will work with retail customers to ensure that the recalled products are not on store shelves. These products should not be sold or fed to pets. In the event that consumers believe they have purchased products affected by this voluntary recall, they should return the product to the store where they purchased it for a full refund. Specific product details and other information can be found at http://www.petcare.mars.com

Please find recalled pet food UPC information below.

A list of safe pet food handling tips can be found at: http://www.fda.gov/consumer/updates/petfoodtips080307.html

surber and police department

I would just like to comment on the July ll, 2008 article on Mr. Surber and his police department. I am a 50 year old women and have had only one speeding ticket in my life time and have never been in trouble. I went to the town of Saltville for concern for my son because he was working in the town of Saltville at the time of June 9, 2007. Mr. Surber went to my son’s job to talk to him and my son called me and was upset. I told him to come on home and that I would go over and talk to Mr. Suber and find out what was going on. Well was that a big mistake. He just did not want to talk to me. I thought that he was going to pick my son up and take him to jail. He said that he had made threats to employes but would not tell me what he had done. I tryed to talk to him and my youngest son said come on mom and I told my son that I guess I would have to get Cody a lawyer. Thats when he dicided he would arrest me. We were outside on the street. I was going to my car and all three cops kept saying we’re going to arest you we are going to arrest you. By then I was so fed up that I said do what ever you got to do. They took me to jail for nothing I did’nt even know what I was arrested for until I got to the police station. My charges were for disorderly conduct and trespassing at a police station. I had to get a lawyer and go to court twice for nothing. Both cases were dismissed. I have not been back in the town of Saltville since this happened. We did all of our shopping and Business in this town because it was closer for us to there since we live close to Saltville. It’s a shame that they have to run good people out of there town. Since this has happened none of my family will shop in Saltville anymore. I did not get a apology from the Town or from the Police Department. They put me through alot for 7 months. If you can’t trust a police officer to talk to Then tell me who you can trust? Thanks Jane S. Cruey
