Soccer teams split

The girls’ soccer team won the final game of the regular season, beating George Wythe 3-0 at Floyd on senior night Tuesday, May 13. The Buffaloes led 1-0 at the half and outscored the Maroons 2-0 in the second half.
Christina Soule got a goal off a head shot with an assist from Samantha Morris. Morris scored off a feed from Shannon McDaniel.
Amanda Schula got an unassisted goal. Shasta Sowers had nine saves.
The Buffaloes were to play Glenvar at Giles in the semifinals of the district tournament Tuesday.
The boys’ soccer team dropped the final game of the regular season, falling to Dayspring Christian Academy 5-1 at Floyd on senior night, Tuesday, May 13.
The Lions got goals from five different players in building a 5-0 lead. Late in the game Luis Valdez got the Buffalo goal.
Floyd was scheduled to play Auburn at Riner Tuesday in the quarterfinal round of the district tournament.
